Kashmir Cyclothon 2022 - J&K Tourism Organised 300 Km Cyclothon

A total of 60 cyclists from across the country took part in the three-day event, which covered hilly and wilderness trails across six districts of Kashmir Valley.

The Indian Army, the CRPF, including the J&K Police, provided security to all cyclists along the way. Twelve-year-old Tanmay, the youngest cyclist to complete the 300-km trail, was the centre of attraction for the event, impressing everyone with his cycling prowess. He had also participated in the 250-km Jashnn-e-Azadi ride to the Hussaini Wala border, Ferozepur. Kashmir Cyclothon which was flagged-off by the Chief Secretary at Srinagar early morning reached Shopian while traversing through the villages and towns of the district.

At Keegam, Shopian, the rally was welcomed by Officials of Youth Services and Sports Department, Education department and students.

Thereafter, it raced through famous stop-overs at Mini Secretariat where it was welcomed by District Administration officers including ACR, DEO who briefed them on various activities including SVEEP.

Residents of Shopian Town and various other officials provided refreshments to them on their way to Dubjan Tourist Resort.

Officials interacted with cyclists who came from various parts of the country and includes in its fold, young and old, women and men and raced on the famous Mughal Road and stopped over at Borihalan.

The first day of Cyclothon culminated at final stopover of Shopian Section at Dubjan and moved to Aharbal, falling in jurisdiction of district Kulgam, on way to VasakNag, Verinag, Kokernag, Daksum, Achabal, Shikargah and Srinagar.

All the Cyclist participants of Kashmir Cyclothon were encouraged by school children, officials, locals at specified stop-overs.

The Tourist Officers and officials of the Tourist Department also accompanied the rally along with local participants.

And next year J&K Tourism will decide to launch this event with some more new places and with more power with more riders. So lets tune and ready for next year riders to explore Kashmir with us.
